One of the most amazing things about the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the life changing power that accompanies it. Worldwide people have been transformed after receiving Jesus. Prostitutes have left their trade. Entire people groups who once were cannibalistic and held personal betrayal as a the highest of ideals have become peace loving and gentle. Drug addicts have been instantly set free and selfish people have become completely consumed with helping others. Jesus said in John 3:3 "Unless a man is born again he will never see the Kingdom of Heaven." This concept is reiterated in 1 Corinthians 5:17 which says, "If any man is in Christ He is a new creation. Old things are passed away, all things are made new." So, the real question for every individual on earth is this: Have you been born again? If you have not been born again you are still guilty and liable for your sin and will be declared guilty on the day of judgement. If you are a Christian, it may be helpful try to get in the habit of asking people this question when sharing the Gospel with them as many people are religious, know about Jesus, attend church, etc . . . however, many of those same people have never had an encounter with Jesus that changed them forever and that is the goal of the Gospel - for every person to open their lives to Jesus and allow Him to come in and make them new. |
