"Whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my father in Heaven."
                   -Matthew 10:33

Your personal salvation HINGES on you being a soul-winner.

Notice what we did not say.  We did not say that your salvation is DETERMINED by you being a soul-winner.  The only thing that determines your personal salvation is the grace and mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ.  However,  In Matthew 10 Jesus says: "Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven.  But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in Heaven."

Many times in scripture there is a direct connection between being Christian and reaching the lost.  Jesus compares his followers to 'a city on a hill that cannot be hidden' or a lamp that should be displayed clearly.  He says that what we hear from Him should be 'shouted from the rooftops.'
